Welcome to the 2014 Fighting Cancer to the Coast season!

Hood to Coast is The Mother Of All Relays and we are so glad that you are interested in making your Hood To Coast or Portland To Coast experience more meaningful by fundraising for the American Cancer Society.  In 2013,just 2% of Hood and Portland To Coast participants raised over $716,000 to fund the Society's mission of diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.  Other Hood To Coast participants raised over $400,000 for World Vision, a nonprofit bringing clean water to the South Sudan, and yet more athletes raised over $80,000 for Hood and Portland To Coast's new Charity of Choice, Providence Health & Services, a great cancer center and one of the American Cancer Society's critical healthcare partners here in the western US..

While ACS is no longer the Charity of Choice for Hood and Portland to Coast, any athlete participating in any event has the freedom to choose his or her own charity of choice, and we hope that you choose us.  We cannot offer the same benefits we could when Hood and Portland to Coast was our partner, but we are committed to supporting your fundraising work and your experience in Oregon next summer, to the greatest extent possible, consistent with good stewardship of the dollars you raise.  Every step you take and every mile you conquer will save lives and create more birthdays.  So, how will YOU make your miles more meaningful this 2014 Hood To Coast & Portland To Coast season?

Athlete Benefits

All Registered Fundraising Participants Receive:
  • Personal fundraising website and year round fundraising support.
  • The opportunity to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
  • An official Cure Cancer sticker recognizing your fundraising accomplishment to wear with pride, race weekend, on your race number. Stickers handed out in increments of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 and SUPERSTAR (for the $1,000+ club)!
Participants who raise $750 or more will receive:
  • Before the event begins, an exlusive race weekend survival bag stocked with goodies and an American Cancer Society race shirt.

Teams who raise $18,000 or more will receive the above, and if desired, accomodations at Seaside so you can shower and sleep in comparative luxury (compared to your van, anyway!).  Register on this site and make this commitment, then contact your ACS staff partner (laura.potter@cancer.org) to discuss this amenity and other amenities we have in the works.

The American Cancer Society is the largest source of private, nonprofit funding for cancer research in the world.  We also provide services to help people through the cancer experience, every one of which is free.  Whoever you are, wherever you are, if you are dealing with cancer, we are in your corner.  Call us at 800-227-2345, 24/7, for reliable cancer information.  And thank you for making our work possible.
