It is with great excitement that we announce our First annual San Mateo County Gala "Imagine". This inaugural event promises to be a spectacular night and will premiere on October 17, 2009 at Tesla Motors in Menlo Park. We are optimistic about the future, but still have a great deal to do before we reach our goal of prevention and a cure in our lifetime. Our distinguished guests will be treated to a night of sumptuous fine foods, elegant silent auction treasures, dancing and much more while giving resources to support those battling cancer and the continued research that will one day lead to the elimination of cancer.

We aspire to make this a successful Inaugural Event with your help. Funds raised at the gala will support American Cancer Society's cancer research and free community-based patient services such as:

• Provide accurate and timely information to cancer patients, families and caregivers 24/7 through our toll-free hotline: 1-800-227-2345.
• Fund state-of-the-art cancer research projects. This past year alone, American Cancer Society has funded 150 research projects in California totaling over $62 million.
• Give a wig and a makeover to a woman who has lost her hair due to cancer treatment.
• Provide a ride for a cancer patient to a treatment appointment and back home.
