Last year, teams, participants and sponsors raised $35,000 to continue the strides in the fight against cancer by providing support for programs of research, education, advocacy, and services to cancer patients and their families. In the United States, cancer accounts for one of every four deaths. More than 565,000 Americans (and 3,000 New Mexicans) will have died from cancer in 2008, or about one every minute. We are moving toward a cancer-free future, but we can’t reach our destination without your help. Please sign up today! Event Update If you're interested in joining the 2008-2009 volunteer planning committee, e-mail lesliehindi@yahoo.com for more information. The committee is looking for more participation from past team captains and survivors, but also anyone that has a passion for fighting cancer! |
