Who:
The American Cancer Society and Iowa’s Division I basketball coaches and their wives have teamed up to host a gala, Hoops for Hope.  Krista and Keno Davis, Dawn and Ben Jacobson, Joez and Todd Lickliter, and Theresa and Greg McDermott will be your hosts for the evening.

What: Great teams. Great basketball. Great coaches. The 2008 Hoops for Hope is a gathering of our state’s basketball coaches and spouses along with community leaders and dedicated supporters for a night of fun, entertainment, and basketball-themed excitement, all with the purpose of raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Why: Although there are more people surviving cancer than ever before, this disease continues to threaten the lives of our families and friends. Cancer knows no boundaries. To win this fight, we must work together to support the American Cancer Society's mission of eliminating cancer.

The American Cancer Society has three aggressive goals to achieve by 2015:

  • Reduce cancer incidence by 25%
  • Reduce cancer mortality by 50%
  • Measurably improve the quality of life for people with cancer

The 2nd Annual 2008 Hoops for Hope provides an exceptional opportunity to help the American Cancer Society to meet these goals
